Ghana forward Eric Opata has earned a place among the Regional Championship’s elite after being nominated for the 2025/26 Player of the Season award following a sensational campaign for FC Heřmanice Slezská.
The 33-year-old forward has enjoyed a stellar season with 15 league goals and providing four assists in over 25 league matches under his belt, a feat that has elevated his status among the Regional Championship’s most influential and potent attackers.
The former Amidaus Professional player has been one of the division’s standout performers and currently sits at the apex of the Championship’s scoring chart.
Opata’s nomination marks another major milestone for Ghanaian football on the international stage and places him as the only African player competing for one of the most prestigious individual honors.
The forward’s explosive pace, physical presence, and versatility have made him a key figure for his club.
With three more games to climax the 2025/26 campaign, Eric Opata is keen on increasing his goal tally to finish as the championship’s top scorer.
Prior to joining FC Heřmanice Slezská, Eric Opata was no new name to Czech football, as he previously played for Viktovice and Kravare, all in the Czech Republic.
