The 2025 Ghana Football Awards celebrated the crème de la crème of the nation’s football, with Thomas Partey emerging as the standout winner, clinching the coveted Footballer of the Year title.
The phenomenal midfielder had a great season with London based club, Arsenal who did amazingly well in this year’s UEFA Champions League — eliminating the giant in the said competition — Real Madrid. His club also placed second in the English Premier League. Party also did well for the senior national team — the Black Stars especially the ongoing World Cup qualifiers. He has scored some amazing goals for the Black Stars this year.
The ceremony, held over the weekend at the grand arena, Accra International Conference Center, was a dazzling showcase of talent and dedication in Ghanaian football.
Partey’s exceptional performances throughout the season have made him a key figure in both his club and national teams.
His award comes as no surprise to fans and pundits alike, who have witnessed his remarkable contributions on the pitch.
In a night filled with accolades, Doris Boaduwaa was honored as the Female Footballer of the Year, recognizing her significant impact in elevating women’s football in Ghana. The awards also highlighted other exceptional talents:

- Home-Based Footballer of the Year: Razak Simpson
- Men’s Team Coach of the Year: James Kwasi Appiah
- Women’s Team Coach of the Year: Abu Kassim
- Golden Shoe Winner: Stephen Amankona
- Women’s Goal Queen Winner: Mary Amponsah
- Odartey Lamptey Future Star Winner: Jerry Afriyie
- Best African International: Achraf Hakimi
The ceremony also recognized team achievements, with Police Ladies Football Club taking home the Female Team of the Year award and Bibiani GoldStars being named Male Team of the Year. Razak Simpson’s stunning goal against Hearts of Oak earned him the Goal of the Year title.
In a heartfelt tribute to those who have shaped Ghanaian football over the years, the Living Legend Award was presented to Mr. Herbert Mensah, Mr. Harry Zakkour, and Mr. Ken Mensah for their outstanding contributions and lasting legacy in the sport.
