Prime Minister of Grenada, Hon. Dickon Mitchell, has been confirmed as a Special Guest at the 2025 GUBA Awards, to be held on November 12 at the Wyndham Grand Barbados – Sam Lord’s Castle All-Inclusive Resort.
The prestigious event, hosted by the Government of Barbados, will run from November 9 to 13, featuring the GUBA Trade & Investment Conference, networking sessions, and the main awards gala on November 12. This year’s edition marks a historic milestone, as it will be the first time the GUBA Awards are held in the Caribbean.
Under the theme “Reclaiming Our Atlantic Destiny: Connect. Build. Renew,” the 2025 GUBA Awards aim to deepen bonds between Africa and the Caribbean while celebrating excellence, leadership, and innovation across the African diaspora.

Prime Minister Mitchell, recognized as a leading voice among a new generation of Caribbean leaders, has been instrumental in promoting stronger Africa–Caribbean partnerships rooted in cultural pride and mutual development. His participation is expected to highlight the importance of unity and collaboration across the Atlantic.
Lady Dentaa Amoateng MBE, CEO of GUBA Enterprise, said the awards and accompanying programs are designed to “foster business partnerships, highlight cultural achievements, and advance shared development priorities between Africa and the Caribbean.”
Since its inception, the GUBA Awards have evolved into a globally recognized platform celebrating outstanding individuals and organizations of African and diaspora heritage whose work continues to inspire positive change and global impact.
