Election 2024: Women In Security Services Urged To Help Maintain Peace.

Women in all security services in the country are urged to bring out their best to ensure peace and harmony as the country prepares for the 2024 general elections.

At a program organized by the National Peace Counsel on Tuesday, March 19,2024, board member of the of the National Peace Council who doubles as an International Consultant with over three decades of experience in development work focusing on Gender, Peace and Security, Mrs Joana Adzoa Opare encouraged women in security services to help ensure peace before, during and after the upcoming general elections.

Speaking on the theme “Inspire Inclusion, the role of ladies in security services and peace council in ensuring peace before, during and after the 2024 general elections” Mrs. Joana Adzoa Opare emphasized that women are made special and so they have equally important roles to play to ensure a better society so they should not sit behind.

Assistant Chief Fire Officer I (ACFOI), Madam Doris Lamptey, the Tema Regional Commander, Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) also told the media their preparedness ahead of the big task ahead of them.

“For peace to prevail anywhere… it’s about discipline and comportment, so we are training our women in all aspect when it comes to elections to help maintain peace in the country”

She encouraged women in the security services not to look down on themselves because they find themselves in male dominated field of work.
