Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG) has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting social cohesion, community engagement, and support for faith-based institutions through a courtesy visit to the National Chief Imam, His Eminence Sheikh Dr Osmanu Nuhu Sharabutu.
The visit, which took place at the Chief Imam’s residence in Fadama, Accra, on Thursday, March 19, was led by the bank’s management team and formed part of CBG’s efforts to strengthen relationships with key national stakeholders during the holy month of fasting.
As part of the visit, the bank presented a donation to support this year’s Eid al-Fitr celebrations. The items included bags of rice, cooking oil, beverages, and other essential provisions, alongside a cash contribution to assist the Muslim community during the festive period.
Speaking during the brief donation ceremony, the Executive Director of CBG, Dr Naomi Wolali Kwetey, described the visit as a demonstration of the bank’s commitment to fostering harmony and mutual respect among people of all faiths.
“Our visit today is a gesture of solidarity and respect, reinforcing CBG’s commitment to harmony among all faiths. We also wished to officially introduce ourselves to the Chief Imam, as we have not had the opportunity to do so since assuming office,” she stated.
Dr Kwetey further noted that the bank was pleased to contribute towards the Eid celebrations, adding, “We do not come empty-handed but have brought a token of cash and food items to support the Eid celebration.”
The National Chief Imam warmly received the delegation and expressed appreciation for the thoughtful gesture. He offered prayers and blessings for the bank’s leadership and staff, while assuring them that the donated items would be distributed among members of the Muslim community in line with the long-standing tradition of supporting worshippers during Eid festivities.
The visit underscores Consolidated Bank Ghana’s dedication to corporate social responsibility and its continued efforts to support communities across the country. Through such engagements, the bank seeks to deepen its relationship with religious and traditional institutions while contributing to national unity and development.
As Muslims around the world prepare to mark Eid al-Fitr, CBG’s donation serves as a timely expression of goodwill and support, reflecting the spirit of compassion, generosity, and togetherness that defines the celebration.
