The newly elected Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Ashaiman Constituency, Baba Rabiu Apokola, has promised to work tirelessly to ensure the party gains massive votes ahead of the 2028 elections.
Rabiu won convincingly after beating off competition from his opponents to be elected as a constituency party executive.
Having served the party for close to a decade now, Rabiu will act as the ground-level strategist and mobilizer with core responsibilities including building and managing local grassroots networks, executing election campaigns, registering voters, and initiating activities within the constituency.
Speaking on Oman FM after the victory, the unreserved politician admitted the road to success was tough, stating clearly that his works at the assembly were proof of why the delegates gave him the nod.
According to him, he is very keen and focused on the task ahead while calling on every member of the party to rally behind the NPP to regain power in 2028.
“I have made a promise to myself that I’ll leave no stone unturned to boost the NPP’s vote in Ashaiman, which will come as a surprise to everyone. It is a collective responsibility to ensure this becomes a reality. We all have a role to play come 2028,” he added.
Hon. Rabiu also doubles as the Assembly Member for the Nii Annan Adjor electoral area, who has been extolled by residents for his leadership and commitment to community development.
The constituency executive election was held last weekend in 245 of the 276 constituencies, with delegates electing new constituency executives to steer the party’s affairs at the constituency level.
The process is intended to renew the party’s grassroots leadership structure after the expiration of the tenure of previous executives, while they will also play a key role in preparing the party for subsequent internal elections at the regional and national levels.
