AQ-Hanson Care Foundation Supports Edina Bakatue Festival With Assorted Items & Amount Of GH₵ 10,000

The AQ-Hanson Care Foundation recently paid a courtesy visit to the Omanhene of Edina Traditional Council, Nana Kojo Conduah VI, in a gesture of goodwill and support for the ongoing Bakatue Festival.

Led by the foundation’s CEO, Aquinas Hanson, the team brought a modest donation to enhance the festivities.

The donation included cartons of bottled of water, crates of soft and alcoholic drinks, a white sheep and a cash donation of GH₵ 10,000.

Nana Kojo Conduah VI expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the AQ-Hanson Care Foundation for their generosity.

He assured the foundation of his support whenever needed and thanked them for their contribution to the Bakatue Festival.

This gesture reflects the foundation’s commitment to ensuring the people of Elmina have a memorable celebration.

The Edina Bakatue Festival is an annual celebration that takes place in Elmina, Ghana, typically on the first Tuesday of July.

It’s a significant cultural event that showcases the rich heritage of the Ghanaian people, particularly the Elmina community.

The festival commemorates the founding of Elmina and marks the beginning of the fishing season, which is crucial to the local economy.

The festival features vibrant cultural displays, including traditional drumming, dancing, and regal processions.

The Paramount Chief casts his net into the Benya Lagoon three times, signifying the lifting of bans on fishing and other activities.

The festival also honors the deity Nana Benya, believed to protect the community and ensure a bountiful fishing season.
