According to John Lennon “Peace is not something you wish for; it’s something you make, something you do, something you are, and something you give away.” Alliance Creative Community Project (ACCP), an accredited member organization of the United Nations’ Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) is ready to hold an international Peaceful Co-existence summit this year.
The non-governmental or non-profit organization established in 2008 and registered in 2010 got UN ECOSOC accreditation in 2013. Amongst its mandates is to work together with communities towards the promotion of peace, harmony and sustainable development.
Speakers invited for this summit, slated for 22nd of June 2024, 6pm at the Royal Banquet Hall in Toronto Canada will speak on the theme ’’Engaging Political actors towards Peaceful 2024 Elections’’ the role of leaders. The whole initiative is in line with Sustainable Development Goal 16; which talks about promotion of peace, justice and strong institutions in member states of the United Nations through peaceful and inclusive societies.
Conflict, which is arguably a threat to the human survival particularly as the continents are challenged with civil unrests, inter-tribal wars, religious conflicts, insurgencies, election violence’s, there is the need to have a common front in propagating peace, justice and equality.
President of Alliance Creative Community Project, H.R.H. KING Nana Yaw Osam I, Manwiherehene, Enyan Denkyira, in an interview a media engagement noted that “as an ECOSOC organization, we promote peace through peace conference, bringing awareness in necessary areas like Ghana which is going through its pre-election struggles.”
Speakers invited for this occasion includes personalities from within academia, traditional authorities, corporate world, government officials, and civil society organizations. Personalities like Honorable. David Smith, MPP/ Scarborough Centre Canada, Honorable. Logan kanapathi, MPP/Markham-Thornhill Canada, Honorable. Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Minister of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Ghana, H.R.H KING Osabarima Otsibu VI, Paramount Chief of Enyan Denkyira Traditional Area, Central region of Ghana.
Specific areas resource persons will focus on are: (i) the need to care for the elders & community to build peace, (ii) building peace by meeting people’s need, (III) building peace by public discussion & strong people’s tribunal, (iv) sustainable infrastructure development.
