Sharaf Mahama, son of Former President of Ghana is a year older today and as part of the celebration he has donated lots of items to the Chance for Children – an NGO which has been strengthening street-connected children and their families in Ghana by providing a chance to build a better future.
Sharaf and his team were welcomed with a cultural display by the children of the Chance for Children. Through the Sharaf Mahama Foundation, he donated books and stationeries, foodstuff, water, toiletries, among others to Chance.
The celebration was more fun when, Sharaf Mahama, who is known to be a lover of music participated in the musical chair games with the children.
“ I am a fan of dancing chairs and it is sad I was eliminated at the early stage, I am happy that the Children are happy.” – Sharaf shared his excitement.
The children were extremely happy and overwhelmed seeing Sharaf Mahama to such humble.
“We’ve seen people come here wanting to play with us but they do not even allow you to touch them. Sharaf is kind and friendly. Though he is the celebrant, he allowed us to come close to him and played with him. It is like he has known us for ages. It was nice.”
As part of means to encourage readings in these children, Sharaf and his team also spent time to read with the children. “I find it very interesting reading with children. These kids are very smart and Intelligent. I was really impressed with their reading skills”he said
“I was happy with how Sharaf took his time to read with me. He told me the future is brighter and I should study hard.” – Lordena, one of the Children who bears same name with Sharaf’s mother, Mrs. Lordina Mahama (Former First Lady of Ghana) shared her excitement after meeting Sharaf.
Management of Chance for Children praised Sharaf Mahama and his team for putting smiles on the faces of these children and wish the CEO to “live long to do more for Mother Ghana”.
