Nigerian superstar, Patoranking has released his much anticipated fourth studio album “World Best” today. World Best follows Patoranking’s albums: God Over Everything (2015), Wilmer (2019) and Three (2020).
Driven by themes of love, life, and conscious poetry, “World Best” is a contemporary classic that personifies this genre fusion. On the album are Kingston’s rowdy leader Popcaan, Jamaica’s dancehall master Beenie Man, and American hip-hop legend Ludacris. It also has guest rhymes from African hitmakers like Kizz Daniel (from Nigeria) and Diamond Platnumz (from Tanzania), and it makes the public aware of up-and-coming artists like Victony (from Nigeria), Gyakie (from Ghana), and Zion Foster (from the UK via Nigeria).
The song “World Best” has a production that is similarly amazing, with a wide variety of sounds that vary from beautiful orchestral to artificial percussion. African producers from throughout the continent, including Phantom (Nigeria), Kel P (Nigeria), Killertunes (Nigeria), C-Tea (Ghana), Mix Master Garzy (Ghana), and others, have all contributed to the album.
Patoranking’s ascent to success has been nothing short of spectacular, with more than 500 million YouTube views and a quarter of a billion DSP streams for his 2020 album “Three.” His enormous fan base—which includes over 8.7 million followers on Instagram alone—testifies to his appeal on a global scale.
