The Ghana Education Trust Fund wishes to caution the general public, contractors, suppliers, consultants, and all prospective bidders to disregard fraudulent publications and fake contract award notices currently circulating in the public domain, purportedly issued in the name of GETFund.
The Fund has observed with concern that certain individuals and groups are circulating misleading information relating to purported GETFund contract opportunities and procurement engagements with the intent to deceive unsuspecting members of the public and fraudulently extort money from prospective bidders and contractors. GETFund wishes to state unequivocally that these publications are false, unauthorized, and do not emanate from the Fund.
In the first place GETFund does not award works contracts directly to contractors, rather the Fund allocates projects to the various coordinating councils after receiving approval from Parliament and requests from stakeholders such as institutions heads, members of Parliament, MMDCEs etc.
The public is hereby advised that any individual, contractor, supplier, consultant, or organization that engages with persons behind such fraudulent publications does so at their own risk and will not be dealing with GETFund in any official capacity.
Accordingly, GETFund shall not be held liable or responsible for any loss, financial commitment, or engagement arising from dealings connected to these fake publications or unauthorized procurement claims.
The Fund further wishes to assure the public that it is taking immediate steps to collaborate with the Ghana Police Service and relevant national security agencies to investigate and bring the perpetrators behind these fraudulent activities to justice.
GETFund therefore urges members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious persons, communications, publications, or activities linked to these fake contract award schemes to the nearest police station or appropriate security agency for immediate action.
The Fund reiterates that all official procurement processes, contract awards, and public notices of GETFund are communicated only through authorized and verifiable channels in accordance with established public procurement laws and procedures.
GETFund remains committed to transparency, accountability, and the protection of the public from fraudulent activities carried out in the name of the Fund.
