The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has provided free mattresses and chop boxes to 2,207 fresh Senior High School students in his constituency.
This initiative aims to ease the financial burden on parents and ensure that no student drops out of school due to lack of basic items.

In addition to the support for students, Honorable Ablakwa announced that all five Senior High Schools in North Tongu are undergoing major infrastructural expansion.
New mega dining halls and dormitories are being constructed to improve facilities and provide a conducive learning environment.
“All my beloved 2,207 fresh North Tongu SHS students don’t have to worry about buying mattresses and chop boxes — their MP has got them covered for FREE,” Mr. Ablakwa said.

He emphasized that the initiative is part of his commitment to remove barriers to education and prevent school dropouts.
The gesture has been warmly received by parents and students in the constituency. Many have expressed gratitude for the MP’s support, which they believe will ease the burden of preparing their wards for school.

Honorable Ablakwa described the initiative as a continuation of the North Tongu tradition of prioritizing education. He stressed that “every barrier shall be removed; no one must drop out”
