Ghana’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Kofi Adams, has responded firmly to criticism from officials within the Ghana Football Association (GFA) following his public release of the Black Stars’ budget for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
Speaking on SportyFM, the Minister defended the decision to disclose the budget, which he said had been significantly reduced to reflect current financial realities.
Notably, the budget excluded allocations for supporters and media, a move he described as necessary to ensure transparency and fiscal discipline.
In a pointed remark aimed at unnamed GFA officials, Adams stated: “Be bold and put your name on the letter,” challenging those who oppose his actions to take public ownership of their views.
The GFA has acknowledged the Minister’s comments but emphasized that its immediate focus remains on the Black Stars’ performance in the qualifiers against Mali and Chad. A formal response is expected after the match on September 8.
The exchange has sparked public interest, highlighting ongoing tensions between the Ministry and the GFA over governance and financial accountability.
As the national team prepares for its crucial fixtures, observers are watching closely to see how this dispute may influence future collaboration between the two bodies.
