The Highlife Centenary Concert, a five-day spectacular event that took place from August 5th to 9th, has come to a close, leaving fans and music lovers in awe.
The concert, which featured a series of shows celebrating the centenary of the term “Highlife”, was a huge success, thanks to the overwhelming support and enthusiasm of patrons.

Organized by the School of Creative Arts, University of Education, Winneba, the event brought together music lovers from all walks of life to celebrate the rich musical heritage of Ghana and the enduring legacy of Highlife music.
In a statement, the organizing committee of the School of Creative Arts, University of Education, Winneba, expressed their deepest gratitude to all who attended the concert.

“We are thrilled to express our heartfelt thanks to each and everyone of you who patronized the Highlife Centenary Concert,” the statement read.
The concert featured a star-studded lineup of performers, with the main band, BIGSHOTS GH, led by renowned Highlife Scholar-Practitioner, Professor Mark-Millas Fish. Other notable performers included Osei Korankye, Dela Botri, Khojo Pinodo, Kwan Pa, Local Dimension, and CLOGSAG Band, among others.

Also performing as special features were Foster Romanus, Jeneral Nta Tia, Clemento Suarez and Kobby Kyei. The event was held at the SCA Theatre, UEW-Central Campus, with two shows per night, at 6:00 PM and 8:30 PM.
The organizing committee extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Jobson Mitchaul, the Council Chair, Justice J. C. Amonoo-Monney, the Pro-Vice -Chancellor, Prof. Esther Yeboah Danso-Wiredu, the Dean, School of Creative Arts, Prof. Emmanuel Obed Acquah, and the entire university management for the support.

The organizing committee is also grateful to the UEW Co-operative Credit Union, Radio Windy Bay, GLOG TV, NYCE Radio, Sunrise Radio, Ghana Armed Forces Music School, UEW Students both past and present, and the entire university community and Winneba township for their patronage and support.
The organizing committee’s appreciation message concluded with a promise to bring more exciting events to fans in the future. “Once again, thank you for your support and enthusiasm. We look forward to bringing more exciting events to you in the future!”
