UEW: CCESAG Kick Off 2025-Week Celebration With ‘Talk-Of-The-Town’ Health Walk In Winneba

The Childhood Care Education Students Association of Ghana (CCESAG) from the Department of Early Childhood Education in the University of Education, Winneba, triggered an unforgettable health walk within the town of Winneba in the Central Region on Saturday, August 9, 2025, to mark the beginning of their 2025 Week Celebrations.

CCESAG-UEW from the Faculty of Applied Behavioural Science in Education took to the principal streets of the Effutu Municipal in an annual health walk under the theme “Innovation, inclusion and impact: The power of Early Childhood Education.”

Hundreds of students within the department showed up from the Student Center at the North Campus all through to the principal streets of Winneba, connecting through the South Campus all the way to the Sir Charles Beach under the eagle eyes of Dr. Justice Gideon Adjerakor, Senior Lecturer in UEW.

The health walk drew massive attention from the town folks following the deployment of music sound system which lit up the Winneba township.

The participants continued with pockets of aerobic sessions at the beach as they made their way back to the North Campus to wrap up the morning walk.

Speaking to sports broadcaster Ermines Onyema of Radio Windy Bay, the students could not envelope their excitement as they expressed their joy after partaking in the health walk. Others got involved in photo taking, dancing sessions as others enjoyed fresh coconut water.

Besides, the Childhood Care Education Students of Ghana (CCESAG) from the Department of Early Childhood in UEW are expected to hold a panel discussion on Monday, August 11, 2025, under the topic “Early Childhood Education: A key to breaking the cycle of poverty.”

Skill training takes center stage on Tuesday, August 12 as an exhibition is set to be witnessed on Thursday, August 14. Inter-level Quiz and movie night comes off on Friday, August 15 as the entire week celebrations will wrap things up on Sunday, August 17 with a mega praise.

CCESAG President for the 2024/2025 academic year in UEW, Confidence Ntegyi spoke to Windy Sports. “This is the first time in this year and I am so pleased to have wonderful people in our midst, especially you Ermines and the lecturers present in this massive health walk. People came out in their numbers and I am so excited”, he said.

Meanwhile, Diana Alooro, former CCESAG executive added, “So going forward, we’ve got to celebrate CCESAG week. I am expecting a lot of fun, a lot of educative programs and I want to see more.”
