Ken Agyapong Supports NPP’s 19th Conference’s With GHC 4 Million

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, veteran New Patriotic Party (NPP) politician and businessman, has pledged a substantial donation of GHC 4 million to facilitate the party’s forthcoming National Delegates Conference in Accra.

The conference, set for July 19, 2025, will see delegates elect party executives and set strategic directions for the 2028 general elections.

Agyapong, one of the contenders for the NPP’s 2028 flagbearer slot, confirmed the donation in statements carried by Joy News and TV3 Ghana.

He emphasized that this support is earmarked for venue arrangements, logistics, delegates’ welfare, and infrastructure essential to hosting a seamless and credible event.

Known for his outspoken style and grassroots appeal, Agyapong served as Member of Parliament for Assin North (2001–2013) and Assin Central (2013–2025), and he chaired the Defense and Interior Committee in parliament.

This donation is notable both for its scale and timing. Political analysts suggest it is a strategic move strengthening Agyapong’s influence among delegates ahead of the flagbearer selection process.

The event is a critical platform to shape party leadership and strategy. A contributor to Joy News’ Facebook page captured national attention by reporting the amount labeled “donates GHC 4 million to support NPP National Delegates Conference”

In his broader appeal to delegates, Agyapong urged them to choose leaders who reflect grassroots aspirations and align with the views of ordinary Ghanaians, citing logic and urgency as decisive elements in steering the party toward victory.

The NPP now stands ready to proceed with conference preparations, which include finalizing the venue, coordinating travel and accommodation for delegates, and implementing safety and health protocols.

As host, the party ensures transparency in fund utilization, with logistics and operational expenses expected to be reported post-conference.

Observers note that while GHC 4 million is a significant contribution, the final outcome rests on delegate decisions and leadership selection.

Agyapong’s engagement reflects both his commitment to a well-organized congress and his ambition to shape the party’s future direction.

The NPP’s National Delegates Conference on July 19, 2025, appears primed for a robust showcase of financial, organizational, and political readiness, setting the stage for upcoming internal elections and the broader electoral landscape leading up to 2028.
