YEA, Sports Ministry To Boost Sports-Based Job Creation With Play Abroad Initiative.

The Youth Employment Agency (YEA), led by CEO Malik Basintale, recently met with Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Iddle Adams, to discuss the YEA PLAY ABROAD initiative.

This program aims to promote sports-based job creation for Ghanaian youth, both locally and internationally.

The Minister described the YEA PLAY ABROAD initiative as timely, highlighting the need for a joint technical team to strengthen its framework.

He emphasized the importance of a holistic and legally grounded approach to ensure fair recruitment, safe migration, and better sports employment opportunities.

CEO Basintale reaffirmed YEA’s commitment to Act 887 (2015), aligning with national goals to develop youth through sports.

The meeting explored proposals to support grassroots talent and retain players in local leagues through structured programs.

YEA under CEO Malik Basintale is working to open global doors for Ghanaian youth through sports, creating opportunities for them to pursue careers in sports abroad.

This initiative is part of YEA’s broader mandate to empower young people aged 15-35 through skills training and internship modules, ultimately reducing unemployment and promoting national development.
