The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Member of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has announced that UK visas have been secured for Suzy Adwoa Pinamang and two caregivers accompanying her on her medical trip.
The Minister shared the news via his X handle on Thursday, May 8, 2025.
According to Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa, instructions have been given to the Ghana High Commission in the UK to extend special consular privileges to Suzy Pinamang and those accompanying her when she arrives in the UK.
This gesture is expected to facilitate her medical treatment and provide necessary support during her stay.
Suzy Adwoa Pinamang, a student of Bantama SDA Senior High School, was tragically involved in an accident that led to the loss of her eyesight.
She was accidentally shot in the face by a male classmate during a mathematics class on Friday, April 4, 2025.
The incident has sparked national concern over student safety, illegal firearm possession, and the need for stricter school security protocols.
The securing of UK visas for Suzy Adwoa Pinamang and her caregivers is a welcome development, and it is hoped that she will receive the best possible medical care in the UK.
The special consular privileges extended by the Ghana High Commission will likely provide her with the necessary support during her stay.
