Environmentalist Richmond Kennedy Quarcoo Calls On Journalists, Celebrities To Help Intensify Education On Climate Change

Richmond Kennedy Quarcoo, Co-founder of Plastic Punch, a leading non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to promoting circular economy and environmental preservation in Ghana, has urged journalists and other influential personalities to intensify education on climate change.

Speaking at a press conference organized by Green Peace Africa and PRO Environment Africa at the Accra City Hotel, Quarcoo emphasized the critical role that climate change education plays in supporting sustainable development and securing a healthier future for generations to come.

As a passionate advocate for marine conservation, Quarcoo highlighted the devastating impact of climate change on Ghana’s ecosystems, particularly its marine environments. He stressed that increased awareness and education are essential in inspiring collective action and driving meaningful change.

“Climate change is one of the most pressing issues of our time, and it’s imperative that we mobilize the media and influential voices to amplify the message,” Quarcoo noted. “By working together, we can foster a culture of sustainability and ensure a livable future for generations to come.”

Quarcoo’s call to action comes at a critical juncture, as Ghana and the world grapple with the escalating consequences of climate change. Rising temperatures, pollution, and waste management issues threaten the country’s biodiversity, economic stability, and human well-being.

Plastic Punch, under Quarcoo’s leadership, has been at the forefront of Ghana’s environmental movement, implementing initiatives that promote recycling, reduce plastic waste, and support sustainable practices.

The press conference, jointly organized by Green Peace Africa and PRO Environment Africa, brought together key stakeholders, media representatives, and environmental advocates to discuss the urgent need for climate action.

Quarcoo’s appeal to the media and influential personalities aims to catalyze a national conversation on climate change, encouraging Ghanaians to adopt eco-friendly habits, support sustainable policies, and demand climate justice.

As Ghana strives to achieve sustainable development and mitigate the effects of climate change, the collaboration between Plastic Punch, Green Peace Africa, PRO Environment Africa, and other stakeholders is crucial in shaping a resilient and environmentally conscious future.
