Kobby Kyei Media, Samaritan’s Feet Ghana Impact 1,200 School Children in Agona Duakwa Through “Shoes of Hope” Initiative

A total of 1,200 schoolchildren across nine schools in Agona Duakwa have benefited from the successful implementation of the “Shoes of Hope” Distribution Project, an initiative by Samaritan’s Feet Ghana in collaboration with Kobby Kyei Media aimed at improving child health, hygiene, and educational outcomes.

The impactful outreach brought together pupils, teachers, parents, traditional leaders, volunteers, and community stakeholders in a remarkable demonstration of compassion and service.

The project focused on providing antimicrobial footwear to children who often attend school without proper shoes, exposing them to various health risks and foot-related infections.

One of the most touching moments of the event was the personal hygiene exercise organized for the beneficiaries before the distribution of the shoes.

Volunteers carefully washed and cleaned the feet of the children while educating them on the importance of personal hygiene, foot care, and healthy living practices.

The exercise not only prepared the children to receive their new footwear but also reinforced valuable lessons on cleanliness and disease prevention.

Following the hygiene session, 1,200 pairs of antimicrobial shoes were distributed to pupils from nine selected schools within the Agona Duakwa area.

The specially designed footwear is expected to provide protection against infections, injuries, and other health complications associated with walking barefoot, while also enhancing the confidence and comfort of the children in school.

The event was honored by the presence of chiefs and traditional leaders from the Agona Duakwa community, who attended to show their support for the initiative. Their participation highlighted the importance of community involvement in promoting child welfare and development.

The chiefs commended Samaritan’s Feet Ghana and Kobby Kyei Media for bringing the project to the area and for prioritizing the health and well-being of the younger generation.

Speaking during the event, representatives of Samaritan’s Feet Ghana reiterated their commitment to improving the lives of children through practical interventions that address both health and educational challenges.

They emphasized that access to proper footwear is not only a matter of comfort but also an important factor in ensuring children’s safety, dignity, and ability to focus on their studies.

Kobby Kyei expressed gratitude to all partners, volunteers, community leaders, and supporters who contributed to the success of the project.

He noted that the initiative aligns with a shared vision of using influence, resources, and partnerships to create meaningful impact in communities across Ghana.

“The smiles on the faces of these children remind us why service to humanity remains important. Every child deserves the opportunity to learn and grow in a safe and healthy environment. We are grateful to Samaritan’s Feet Ghana, the traditional leaders, teachers, volunteers, and everyone who played a role in making this project a success,” he said.

Teachers and school authorities also welcomed the intervention, describing it as timely and transformative. According to them, many pupils come from families facing financial challenges, making access to quality footwear difficult.

They believe the support will contribute positively to school attendance, participation, and overall student welfare.

Parents and community members who witnessed the exercise expressed appreciation to the organizers, noting that the initiative had brought relief to many households while restoring confidence and dignity to the children who benefited.

Beyond the distribution of footwear, the event served as a powerful reminder of the impact that collaboration, compassion, and community support can have on vulnerable populations.

Through the combined efforts of Samaritan’s Feet Ghana, Kobby Kyei Media, traditional authorities, and volunteers, the Shoes of Hope Distribution Project has left a lasting impression on the lives of 1,200 children in Agona Duakwa.

As the beneficiaries proudly walked away in their new shoes, they carried with them not only protection for their feet but also renewed hope, confidence, and the assurance that their community and partners care about their future.

The success of the initiative stands as an inspiring example of how collective action can transform lives and create lasting change.
