Fast-rising boxing syndicate Bishop Boxing Promotions has officially announced the signing of boxers billed for the much-anticipated Best of Bukom Fest on Thursday.
The short ceremony was held at the Marsaw Media Studio inside East Airport, Accra, where four boxers, namely, Charles “Hitman” Tetteh and Wasiru “Gyatabu” Mohammed, penned their signatures to the contract.
The rest are Haruna “Thunder” Mohammed and Obodai “The Miracle” Sai, all agreeing to mount the ring and prove their worth.
Put together by Bishop Boxing Promotions, the two-day event scheduled for August 28-29, 2026, with a yet-to-be-announced venue, will bring together a series of high-caliber boxing bouts across two action-packed days paired with live music and cultural showcases.
Speaking at the short event, the Chief Executive Officer of Bishop Boxing Promotions, Dave Bishop, said the event is dedicated to celebrating Ghana’s deep boxing roots by honoring legends, elevating rising fighters, and offering immersive cultural experiences that educate, entertain, and unite communities.
According to him, the firm extends its sincere apologies to all stakeholders following the pending case with Laboma Beach, the venue for the festival, which saw the earlier date changed from May 7-8 to August 28-29.
He mentioned that the affected boxers will be offered other incentives with special bout bonuses, adding that the two days will be blessed with 20 fights.
On the day, SP Sports Management boxer Charles ‘Hitman’ Tetteh will face Wasiru ‘Gyatabi’ Mohammed in the super featherweight competition.
Warisu holds the title of the WBO Global Super Bantamweight Champion with loads of experience in the ring.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Warisu said his opponent Charles Tetteh is no man’s meat, adding that he will pull a big surprise on him.
The ‘Hitman’ urged his fans to come in their numbers, as he is keen on another victory.
Another bout on the night will be between two former champions in the cruiserweight division.
Former Commonwealth Super Welterweight Champion Obodai ‘The Miracle’ Sai will battle it out with Haruna ‘Thunder’ in the Cruiserweight Division, as the bout promises to be one to watch out for.
Prior to these bouts, there will be undercard fights to begin the event with, while fans will be treated to some great performances from top musicians.
