The Founder of Majesty Groupe, Dr. Jerry Darwin, has called on African entrepreneurs to turn their attention to China in their pursuit of technological growth and industrial transformation.
Dr. Darwin made the call last Thursday at the Lancaster Hotel in Accra, during the launch and fundraising dinner in support of the implementation of the eight-year development plan of the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly.

Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the event, Dr. Darwin, who has spent several years building business relationships and entrepreneurial ventures in China emphasized that Africa must be deliberate in learning from models that have delivered tangible results.
“China has already walked the path Africa is attempting to take. What they have built over the decades is not accidental; it is a carefully structured blueprint for rapid industrialization, technological innovation, and economic transformation. If African entrepreneurs are willing to study, adapt, and partner strategically, that blueprint can be localized to accelerate development across the continent,” he said.
Dr. Darwin further noted that China’s rise as a global economic powerhouse offers practical lessons in discipline, infrastructure investment, and innovation-driven growth.
“From smart manufacturing systems to high-speed rail networks, digital payment ecosystems, and large-scale industrial parks, China has demonstrated what is possible when leadership aligns with vision and execution.
These are not distant concepts. They are practical systems African businesses can tap into through partnerships and knowledge transfer,” he added.
Drawing from his personal experience, Dr. Darwin attributed several advanced technological exposures to his years of operating in China, highlighting innovations such as artificial intelligence-driven manufacturing, electric vehicle production ecosystems, and integrated supply chain systems.
“My time in China exposed me to cutting-edge technologies from AI-powered production lines to the fast-growing electric vehicle industry and smart logistics platforms. These experiences have shaped my belief that Africa’s next phase of development must be anchored on technology, and China remains one of the most strategic partners to achieve this,” he stated.
He encouraged policymakers, private sector players, and young entrepreneurs to deepen engagement with Chinese institutions and businesses to unlock new opportunities for growth.
The event brought together stakeholders from government, business, and development sectors, all committed to supporting the long-term development agenda of Cape Coast and positioning it as a hub for sustainable economic growth.
