IGP Yohuno Not Dead, Ghana Police Service Refutes Rumors

The Ghana Police Service has dismissed widespread rumors suggesting that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has passed away. In a firm and clear statement, the Service described the speculations as false, malicious, and completely unfounded.

According to the communiqué, the Police Administration’s attention was drawn to disturbing claims circulating on social media alleging that the IGP had died. The Service emphasized that such reports are entirely untrue and should be ignored by officers, family members, loved ones and the general public.

The statement reassured the nation that Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno is alive, healthy, and actively discharging his mandate as the head of the Police Service.

The Police further condemned the individuals behind what they termed “malicious, insensitive and reckless claims,” cautioning that disinformation is a criminal offense. The Service noted that efforts are underway to identify those responsible for circulating the false report, and anyone found culpable will face the law.

The communiqué urged the public to rely on official channels for credible information and avoid sharing unverified content that can cause unnecessary panic or confusion.

The Ghana Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining peace, security, and public trust as it continues its duties under the leadership of IGP Christian Tetteh Yohuno.
