“SAVE THE GOAL” project extends support to goalkeepers in Ashanti, Northern Regions

Two shot stoppers in Kumasi and another from Tamale in the Northern Region, Mohammed Abdul Ganiwu, who plies his trade with Ghana Premier League side Karela United, have all received a pair of goalkeeping gloves from Greg Sports Consult under the initiative “SAVE THE GOAL.”

In the Ashanti Region, Ex-Asante Kotoko and Ghanaian international Francis Akwaffu, head coach of King Faisal Football Club, received the package on behalf of Greg Sports Consult, who presented the gloves to the two goalkeepers.

Mohammed Abdul Gamiwu also received his package thanked Greg Sports Consult with a Facebook post.

“A big thank you to Greg Sports Consults Ghana. I am truly grateful to Greg Sports Consults Ghana for their support through the “Save The Goal Initiative.”

“This is more than equipment—it’s belief, it’s motivation, it’s a step closer to my dreams,” he added.

The gesture was to motivate athletes to strive for international standards, inspired by the exemplary performance of Benjamin Asare, a local goalkeeper who plies his trade with Hearts of Oak and is a member of the Black Stars of Ghana national team.

According to a post made by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Greg Sports Consult, Mr. Jacob Klins Martin, he urged the beneficiaries to continue to strive for greatness.

“And to the goalkeepers — let this be fuel for your journey. Keep pushing, keep believing, and keep raising the standard. Your passion for the game is what drives us, and we’re proud to stand behind you,” he said.

“A heartfelt thank you to Akwaffo Boateng Francis Totti for graciously representing Greg Sports Consults and presenting our gloves to these remarkable goalkeepers. Your support made this moment possible,” Mr. Klins Martin added.

According to him, the project does not end there, but it will run for the next eight months from April 20th to December 2026, adding that young and talented goalkeepers in the lower leagues are not exempted.

Mr. Klins Martin added that the team has started a nationwide tour to visit clubs where lucky goalkeepers will be presented with a pair of gloves to support their journey.

“SAVE THE GOAL” project, which is powered by Greg Sports Consult Ghana Limited, is an initiative that is aimed at supporting grassroots athletes, with a focus on both male and female goalkeepers across the country.
