Ibrahim Mahama, Nana Akomea, Peter Amewu, Bola Ray,Others Graced Paa kwesi Asare’s Send Off Party

The BBC award winning journalist was on Monday treated to a beautifully elegant and classy send off party which took place at the Goldcoast grill and bar restaurant. The event which started at 7pm was attended by friends, family and colleagues from the media fraternity. Noticeable amongst the attendees were the Managing Director of STC, Nana Akomea, Minister of Railways, John Peter- Amewu and CEO of Engineers and Planners, Ibrahim Mahama.

Others include the Executive Secretary of the Public Servants Housing Loans Scheme, Richard Asante Yeboah, Administrator of the Minerals Development Fund, Dr. Norris Hammah and the Deputy Director of NADMO, Seji Saji

The event was to celebrate Paa kwesi for being the First Ghanaian to win the BBC News Komla Dumor Award, an award instituted by the BBC to honor Komla dumor, and iconic Ghanaian broadcaster who died at age 41, working for the BBC.

CEO of EIB Group, Nathaniel Anokye Adisi, also known as Bola Ray, lawyer and journalist with Citi fm, Richard Sky and Israel Laryea of Influencer Africa and CEO of Wembley , Robert Coleman, CEO of Equity Health Insurance,, Elton Afari were all present at the event to show their support.

Paa kwesi is due to travel to London to begin his contract with the BBC where he will also produce an African story to be broadcast on the BBC channels.

The award is presented each year “to an outstanding individual living and working in Africa, who combines strong journalism skills, on air flair, and an exceptional talent in telling African stories with the ambition and potential to become a star of the future.”

The winner is given a three-month training and development contract in BBC News.
