The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced widespread power outages following a heavy rainstorm that swept through parts of the country on Sunday, 18th May 2025.
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has informed the public that heavy downpour has disrupted power supply in several areas due to damage within its network infrastructure.
In a statement released today, ECG acknowledged that the storm led to faults resulting in outages and assured affected customers that efforts are underway to restore power as quickly as possible.
“Our engineers are working assiduously to repair the faults and restore power supply,” the statement said.
Customers experiencing localized issues such as fallen poles or sagging conductors are advised to report them immediately.
Reports can be made through the ECG Call Center at 0302-611611, the nearest ECG office, or via ECG’s social media handles @ECGghOfficial on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram.
ECG expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and reaffirmed its commitment to restoring services promptly and safely.
