Get familiar with Big Sam, a powerful force behind music & culture.

In today’s fast-evolving entertainment industry, success is no longer built on talent alone. Behind every thriving artist, sold-out concert, or viral campaign is a network of creative minds shaping culture from the background.

One of those rising forces is Samuel Ampomah, popularly known as Big Sam, a multifaceted entertainment professional whose influence spans music promotion, artist management, public relations, production, branding, and entrepreneurship.

Born on May 18, 1999, and raised in Accra, Ghana, Big Sam developed an early passion for music, storytelling, fashion, and entertainment culture. Even as a child, he was fascinated by how artists connected with audiences and how branding could transform ordinary talent into cultural icons. That curiosity eventually evolved into a career dedicated to helping artists grow, expand their reach, and build lasting identities within the entertainment industry.

Over the years, Big Sam has established himself as a respected figure within the Ghanaian and international music scene through his versatility, strategic thinking, and ability to connect creativity with business. His work cuts across Ghana, Nigeria, and the United Kingdom, where he has contributed to artist campaigns, audience development, music promotion, and event marketing.

One of his most notable professional collaborations has been with Emmanuel Smith, the talented singer and semi-finalist from The Voice UK. Serving as both A&R and PR representative, Big Sam played a significant role in shaping promotional strategies, media engagement, and audience communication around the artist’s career.

Through carefully coordinated campaigns and strategic promotion, he contributed to multiple sold-out shows at Indigo at The O2 Arena, helping solidify Emmanuel Smith’s growing international presence while strengthening his own reputation as a capable entertainment strategist.

Among his career-defining achievements was the promotion of Skylight at the Indigo O2, Emmanuel Smith’s headline event, which sold out twice. Impressively, Big Sam handled the promotion independently, demonstrating his ability to execute high-level marketing campaigns in highly competitive entertainment spaces. The success of the event became a major milestone in his journey and highlighted his understanding of audience engagement, branding, and event visibility.

Beyond this, Big Sam has also worked closely with gospel and inspirational artist Richie O, contributing to releases, media campaigns, and branding efforts that elevated the artist’s visibility within the music industry. His influence extended further into the Nigerian market through collaborations with artist Ink Boy, where he supported promotion, public relations, and market expansion strategies across different audiences.

His experience is not limited to artist campaigns alone. Big Sam has also played a role in major entertainment events, including the promotion of Afro Nation Ghana, one of Africa’s biggest music festivals. Known globally for celebrating African music and culture, the festival provided another platform for him to showcase his strengths in audience engagement, large-scale event promotion, and entertainment marketing.

While music remains central to his career, Big Sam’s creative interests extend deeply into fashion, production, and visual storytelling. One of his earliest breakthroughs in fashion and cultural production came through his involvement in the globally recognized Free The Youth x Jumpman (Jordan) collaboration in Ghana. Working as an Assistant Producer, he gained practical experience in production coordination, creative direction, and storytelling within an international brand partnership that blended youth culture, fashion, and music.

He later expanded his production portfolio by serving as a Production Assistant on a digital cover shoot for Guzangs Magazine featuring NFL star Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. The project successfully combined sports, fashion, and editorial storytelling, further demonstrating his ability to contribute across multiple creative industries. In addition to working behind the scenes, Big Sam was also featured in the magazine, reinforcing his growing visibility within the broader creative community.

His production experience continued to grow through collaborations involving two-time Grammy-winning producer Rexxie and Ghanaian artist Camidoh, where he contributed to music video and visual production projects. These experiences exposed him to high-level cross-border collaborations and strengthened his understanding of the evolving relationship between music, visuals, and global branding.

In addition to his industry work, Big Sam is also the co-founder of Ghana Music Blog Network, a platform dedicated to supporting music promotion, improving media visibility, and strengthening Ghana’s digital entertainment ecosystem. Through this initiative, he has helped bridge the gap between artists, bloggers, media outlets, and audiences, creating opportunities for greater collaboration and exposure within the music industry.

Currently, Big Sam works with Sede, a creative distribution and marketing company focused on supporting artists through music distribution, funding, creative direction, and campaign management. In this role, he continues to help artists build sustainable careers by developing strategic release plans, strengthening brand identity, and creating narratives that resonate with audiences. His ability to combine structure, creativity, and long-term vision has earned him respect among artists, managers, producers, and entertainment executives alike.

Beyond entertainment operations, Big Sam also carries a strong entrepreneurial vision. His ambitions extend into entertainment management, media development, nightlife experiences, branding, and digital marketing. He hopes to build platforms and agencies that nurture emerging talent while shaping the future of African entertainment and culture on a global scale.

Samuel Ampomah represents a new generation of African entertainment professionals, versatile, innovative, and deeply connected to culture. Through every campaign, production, collaboration, and creative venture, Big Sam continues to position himself as one of the emerging forces helping shape the future of music, fashion, and entertainment in Ghana and beyond.
