The Ghana Police Service has promoted four officers from the Western Central Regional Police Command for their outstanding diligence, professionalism, and swift action in intercepting suspects linked to a high-profile murder case.
The Ghana Police Service has elevated four officers of the Western Central Regional Police Command for their commendable performance in the line of duty.
The officers No. 47459 G/Sgt. Fetus Gameli Kukuia, No. 52192 G/Cpl. Christian Asare, No. 52441 G/Cpl. Nicholas Kingsley Amoah, and No. 59947 G/Const. Adam Yakubu were promoted to the ranks of Inspector, Sergeant, and Lance Corporal respectively.
Their promotion follows their instrumental role in the arrest of three suspects, Hakeem Imoro, Imoro Tahiru, and Nurideen Wahab who were found in unlawful possession of arms and ammunition on 30th April 2025 at Bawdie Barrier, near Wassa Akropong.
The arrests came just a day after the gruesome murder of five individuals at Asiyaw, near Nsawam.
The suspects, traveling aboard a Grand Bird Bus with registration number AS 4431 22, were intercepted by the officers during a routine check.
A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a submachine gun and twenty-one rounds of ammunition concealed on suspect Hakeem Imoro.
During interrogation, Imoro disclosed that the weapon was supplied by his employer, Samuel Atsu Forson alias Alanyo, who was already in custody in connection with the Asiyaw murders.
Investigations later revealed that the suspects were attempting to flee the region and were directly linked to the Asiyaw killings, making the interception by the officers a critical breakthrough in the case.
The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, along with the Police Management Board (POMAB), lauded the officers for their vigilance and professionalism.
He emphasized that the Ghana Police Service remains committed to recognizing and rewarding excellence within the Service.
“This promotion is not only a reward for hard work but a signal to all personnel that dedication to duty and exceptional performance will be acknowledged,” the IGP stated.
The Ghana Police Service continues to encourage all officers to uphold the highest standards in the fight against crime.
