The Young African Women Congress (YAWC) Network has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG) in a significant move to empower women across the country.
The partnership seeks to improve the economic and social well-being of Ghanaian women through financial inclusion, education, and access to opportunities that promote growth and independence.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Managing Director of Consolidated Bank Ghana, Dr. Naomi Wolali Kwetey, expressed excitement about the collaboration and reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to supporting women’s development.
“Today, we reaffirm our dedication to supporting Ghanaian women through our partnership with YAWC Network as we continue to create more opportunities for women to thrive in their personal and professional lives, ensuring that they have the resources and mentorship they need to succeed. This aligns perfectly with our objective to foster inclusivity,” she stated.

Chairman of the Young African Women Congress, Mr. Daniel Osei Tuffour, said the initiative focuses on improving the lives of Ghanaian women, particularly market women, who often face challenges accessing financial support and business education.
“We are particularly excited to collaborate with CBG, whose dedication to inclusive finance and enterprise development aligns strongly with the vision of this program. This program will target women at the grassroots level, the unbanked women population,” he said.
According to him, the partnership aims to reach more than 500,000 beneficiaries by the year 2028. He explained that the target would be achieved through financial literacy training, mentorship programmes, and support in accessing loans to expand their businesses and improve their livelihoods.
The partnership between YAWC and Consolidated Bank Ghana is expected to play a key role in promoting women’s empowerment and strengthening financial inclusion in Ghana.
