Consolidated Bank Ghana has officially launched its Agency Banking service, known as CBG Sika Agent, in a major step toward expanding access to banking services and promoting financial inclusion across the country.
The initiative forms part of the bank’s broader strategy to bring convenient and accessible banking services closer to individuals, businesses, and underserved communities, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas where access to traditional banking infrastructure remains limited.
Speaking at the official launch, the Managing Director of Consolidated Bank Ghana, Dr. Naomi Wolali Kwetey, emphasized the bank’s commitment to leveraging agency banking as a transformative tool for economic empowerment and financial accessibility.

Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Kwetey revealed that the bank has already onboarded 168 agents nationwide and is aggressively expanding its network to increase the number to 1,000 agents by the end of the year. She further disclosed that the bank aims to grow the network to an impressive 8,000 agents by 2028.
According to her, the CBG Sika Agent initiative is designed to provide customers with easier access to essential banking services, including cash deposits, withdrawals, transfers, bill payments, and account opening services, without necessarily visiting a banking hall.
“The introduction of CBG Sika Agent reflects our dedication to ensuring that every Ghanaian, regardless of location, has access to secure and reliable banking services,” she stated.

The launch event also highlighted the experiences of some newly onboarded agents, who expressed excitement and optimism about the initiative. The agents noted that the platform would not only provide convenient banking services to their communities but also create employment and business growth opportunities.
Also speaking at the event was Dickman Nana Yaw Adarkwa, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of First Vision Technologies and ModeFin partners. He underscored the strong partnership between his company and Consolidated Bank Ghana in the successful rollout of the agency banking initiative.

Mr. Adarkwa explained that the collaboration combines innovative financial technology with accessible banking solutions to help bridge the gap between traditional banking institutions and underserved populations.
The launch of CBG Sika Agent marks another significant milestone in Ghana’s financial services sector, as banks continue to adopt digital and agent banking solutions to improve financial inclusion, enhance customer convenience, and stimulate economic participation nationwide.
With its ambitious expansion targets and strategic partnerships, Consolidated Bank Ghana is positioning itself as a key player in transforming community banking and extending financial services to every corner of Ghana.
