Ghanaian athletes Joseph Paul Amoah and Abdul-Rasheed Saminu have failed to pick up a medal in the men’s 100m final at the ongoing 2026 African Seniors Athletics Championships.
The duo finished in the fourth and sixth places, respectively, where Amoah in lane 5 finished with a time of 10.3220, while Saminu in lane 5 reached a time of 10.3597.
Prior to booking their places in the 100-meter final, the two sprinters won their respective semifinal heats on Wednesday, as Saminu finished top in Heat 2 at the University of Ghana Stadium, while Joe Paul placed in Heat 3 to progress.
In the final, Cameroon’s Emmanuel Eseme in lane 5 fetched a time of 10.2577 to win gold, while Bradley Nkoana from South Africa in lane 5 won silver with a time of 10.3118 and Chidera Ezeakor in lane 6 with a time of 10.3183.
That notwithstanding, the two athletes will now turn their attention to other events scheduled for subsequent days.
