“SAVE THE GOAL” project extends support to goalkeepers in Ashaiman

Two talented shot stoppers, Obiri Mintah and John Nketiah, have both received pairs of goalkeeping gloves from Greg Sports Consult under the initiative “SAVE THE GOAL.”

The short presentation was done at the Niii Amui Park on Monday during the Ashaiman ‘Monday Special’ community football game between Ashaiman Hearts of Oak and arch-rivals Ashaiman Asante Kotoko.

The gesture was to motivate athletes to strive for international standards, inspired by the exemplary performance of Benjamin Asare, a local goalkeeper who plies his trade with Hearts of Oak and is a member of the Black Stars of Ghana national team.

Speaking during the presentation, Chief Executive Officer of Greg Sports Consult, Mr. Jacob Klins Martin, acknowledged the good sportsmanship displayed by the two beneficiaries.

According to him, the project does not end there, but it will run for the next eight months from April 20th to December 2026, adding that young and talented goalkeepers in the lower leagues are not exempted.

Mr. Klins Martin added that the team has started a nationwide tour to visit clubs where lucky goalkeepers will be presented with a pair of gloves to support their journey.

He added that goalkeeping gloves have been sent to goalkeepers in the North and other parts of Greater Accra.

The two goalkeepers were full of praise and thanked Greg Sports Consult for appreciating their work and supporting their goalkeeping journey.

“SAVE THE GOAL” project, which is powered by Greg Sports Consult Ghana Limited, is an initiative that is aimed at supporting grassroots athletes, with a focus on both male and female goalkeepers across the country.
