As part of its 2026 preventive healthcare initiative, Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG) organized a free health screening exercise for members of the Charismatic Evangelical Ministry at Agbogba in Accra on Sunday.
The event attracted a large and diverse turnout, with young men and women, the elderly, and individuals from various backgrounds taking advantage of the opportunity to check their health status. The exercise formed part of CBG’s broader commitment to promoting wellness and encouraging early detection of potential health conditions.
Participants were screened for key health indicators, including blood pressure, blood group, and diabetes, among others. Health professionals were on hand to provide guidance and basic counseling based on the results, helping attendees better understand their current health condition and the steps needed to maintain or improve it.

Speaking to the media during the event, the Managing Director of Consolidated Bank Ghana Ltd, Dr. Naomi Wolali Kwetey, explained the motivation behind the initiative. She emphasized the bank’s strategic focus on preventive healthcare this year, noting that early detection and awareness are critical in reducing the burden of disease.
“At CBG, this year we have decided that what we’ll do mainly is to focus on preventive healthcare,” she stated. “Throughout the year, we will be visiting various churches and centers to educate people and help them understand that it is better to prevent illnesses than to wait for them to occur before seeking treatment.”
Dr. Kwetey further highlighted that the outreach at the Charismatic Evangelical Ministry was just one of many planned engagements aimed at bringing healthcare closer to communities. She encouraged all attendees to take advantage of such initiatives, stressing the importance of knowing one’s health status.
“We are encouraging everyone who came to church today to go through the screening, know their status, and understand how to take better care of themselves,” she added.
The initiative underscores CBG’s growing role not only as a financial institution but also as a socially responsible organization committed to the well-being of the communities it serves. By prioritizing preventive care, the bank aims to contribute to a healthier population and reduce the long-term impact of avoidable health conditions.
The success of the event at Agbogba signals strong community interest in accessible healthcare services and sets the tone for similar outreach programs planned across the country in the coming months.
