YEA, Ghana Police Service Trains 12,000 Youth Under Community Protection Assistants Programme

The Youth Employment Agency (YEA), in collaboration with the Ghana Police Service, has successfully passed out thousands of young recruits under the Community Protection Assistants (CPA) module, bringing the total number trained nationwide to 12,000.

The latest graduation brings to 12,000 the total number of Community Protection Assistants trained and deployed across the country to support law enforcement and enhance community safety.

The event was attended by the Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, alongside YEA’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Malik Basintale.

Both reaffirmed government’s commitment to expanding job opportunities for the youth while strengthening security in local communities.

In his address, Mr. Basintale commended the recruits for their discipline and dedication throughout their training and urged them to serve with integrity, respect, and professionalism in their respective communities.

He emphasized that the CPA module is not only a youth employment avenue but also a key pillar in government’s broader vision of ensuring community policing and safer neighbourhoods.

The Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment lauded the YEA–Police Service collaboration, stressing that the programme embodies the dual goals of empowering young people with meaningful work while supporting national security structures.

The newly trained assistants are expected to be deployed nationwide to assist the Ghana Police Service in maintaining law and order, gathering community intelligence, and providing basic safety support in line with the country’s community policing strategy.
