Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey appeared in Westminster Magistrates’ Court to face charges of rape and sexual assault. The 32-year-old, who is set to join Villarreal, has been granted bail.
Partey faces five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, allegedly occurring between 2021 and 2022. His lawyer stated that he denies all allegations and is looking forward to clearing his name.
Bail conditions include:
- No contact with women involved in the case
- Notifying police of address changes
- Informing police of international travel plans
Partey is expected to appear in court again on September 2, 2025. Despite the charges, he is anticipated to continue his playing career with Villarreal.
As at now, Thomas Partey’s future both on and off the pitch hangs in the balance.
