The new Headmistress of Saaman Berease Basic School, Ms. Joana Mensah, was formally introduced to the Omanhene of the Abrem Traditional Area, Nana Kyiriwia Kodie V, this morning.
The occasion was marked by warm receptions and pledges of support for the school’s development.
In his remarks, the Omanhene commended the outgoing Headmistress, Ms. Elizabeth Sackey, for her exemplary leadership and service.

He also highlighted the contributions of Dr. Isaac Mepenodo, a former head of the school, noting that under his leadership, students consistently achieved outstanding results, including single-digit performances. He encouraged the new Headmistress to continue this tradition of excellence.
The Omanhene praised the dedication of the school staff, singling out Mr. Ahmed, the longest-serving staff member, for his loyalty and commitment to the school.

Responding, Ms. Joana Mensah expressed gratitude for the warm reception and assured all present of her commitment to working diligently with staff and stakeholders to improve teaching and learning outcomes. She also respectfully appealed for the continued support of the Omanhene in addressing the school’s needs.
The SISO for the Abrem Agona Circuit, Mr. Henry Amartey, thanked the Omanhene for his ongoing support, particularly in employing teachers to fill vacancies as a temporary measure.
He emphasized his commitment to ensuring that learners benefit fully from teaching and learning through professional guidance and supervision. He further noted that the Education Directorate is actively supporting all schools in the municipality to improve academic performance.
The visit concluded successfully, signaling a strong partnership between the school and the traditional authority, and promising a positive start for the new Headmistress’s tenure.
