On February 28, 2025, President John Dramani Mahama attended a fellowship event with Ghana’s clergy at the Accra International Conference Center.
The event which had notable religious leaders such as Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, Prophet Isaac Owusu Bempah, Prophet Salifu Amoako, Kumchacha etc aimed to promote national unity, divine guidance and the role of faith in governance.
During the event, President Mahama emphasized the importance of the church in promoting peace and unity, particularly during challenging times.
He also acknowledged the pivotal role played by religious leaders in maintaining peace in Ghana.
The President expressed his desire to hold similar meetings with the clergy in other parts of the country, including northern Ghana, to foster greater collaboration and understanding between the government and religious leaders.
The event was seen as a significant step towards promoting interfaith dialogue and cooperation in Ghana.
By engaging with the clergy, President Mahama demonstrated his commitment to working with religious leaders to address the country’s challenges and promote national development.
