The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) is planning to construct the country’s first amusement park in Cape Coast, Central Region.
According to Maame Efua Houadjeto, CEO of GTA, the project aims to make Ghana a top travel destination on the African continent.
The amusement park will be a state-of-the-art facility, providing a new tourism attraction for the region.
The amusement park will be located in Cape Coast and will be the first of its kind in Ghana. Discussions are ongoing with potential investors who have shown interest in supporting the project.
This initiative is part of the GTA’s broader strategy to enhance Ghana’s tourism industry and attract more visitors.
In addition to the amusement park, the GTA plans to develop eco-friendly lodges at popular tourist sites, including Mole National Park and Kakum National Park.
New event centers will also be built in Accra and the Central Region to attract more events and improve tourism infrastructure.
Cape Coast is already a popular tourist destination, known for its historical sites such as the Cape Coast Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and former slave trading post, and Kakum National Park, a rainforest reserve with a famous canopy walkway offering stunning views of the lush jungle below.
