Ghana Army Special Operations Brigade Strengthens Global Ties In African Lion 2025 Exercise

The Ghana Army’s Special Operations Brigade has joined multinational forces in Morocco for Exercise African Lion 2025, aimed at sharpening combat readiness, strengthening joint capabilities, and reinforcing military cooperation across borders.

The Ghana Army’s Special Operations Brigade has participated in Exercise African Lion 2025 in Morocco, a major multinational military training initiative designed to bolster operational readiness, enhance force lethality, and deepen international partnerships.

The exercise focused on improving coordination and joint effectiveness in complex, multi-domain scenarios.

Brigadier General Daniel Cederman, Deputy Commanding General (Reserve) of the U.S. Southern European Task Force Africa, lauded the exercise as a “remarkable event,” noting that it underscores the importance of shared training and growing cooperation among allied nations.

“This exercise not only showcases our collective military capabilities but also demonstrates the enduring strategic partnership between the United States and participating countries,” said Brig. Gen. Cederman. “The collaborative environment fostered during African Lion 2025 strengthens our military ties and encourages cultural exchange and mutual understanding.”

Exercise African Lion is the largest U.S. Africa Command joint annual exercise and brings together troops from across Africa, Europe, and North America.

Ghana’s involvement underscores its commitment to global security collaboration and regional stability.
