In a heartening display of community spirit and solidarity, the Nsawam Medium Security Prison witnessed the re-launch of its innovative prison football project on Tuesday.
This initiative, supported by various stakeholders including the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG), football legends, and local community members, aims to promote rehabilitation and reintegration for inmates through sports.
The event brought together prominent Ghanaian football figures, including legends such as Anthony Baffoe, Samuel Osei Kuffuor and Kwame Ayew, who joined hands with prison management and humanitarian organizations to motivate inmates.
The gathering served as a reminder that incarceration is not the end of life; rather, it presents an opportunity for reflection and personal growth.
The re-launch was inspired by the decades-long efforts of the late Ibrahim Sly Tetteh and Abedi Pele, who had previously organized similar activities aimed at fostering connections between inmates and society.

Management of the prison facility expressed their gratitude to all participants, particularly highlighting the contributions of DDP Seidu, DDP Osei, and DDP Adam.
Special recognition was also given to Yakubu Abdul-Salaam, president of New Edubiase F/C, for his financial support toward the project.
