Alhaji Salamu Amadu launches electric car work and pay initiative to create over 2,000 Jobs

The Chairman of the Afro-Arab Group of Companies, Alhaji Salamu Amadu, has officially launched the Electric Car Work and Pay Initiative, an ambitious program aimed at creating over 2,000 jobs for Ghana’s youth.

The launch, which took place earlier today at the company’s headquarters in Nima, marks a significant step toward tackling youth unemployment while promoting environmentally sustainable transportation. Addressing the media, Alhaji Salamu Amadu announced that the first batch of electric vehicles has arrived in the country and is ready for distribution to interested young people.

According to him, the initiative is not only designed to provide sustainable employment opportunities for young people but also to contribute meaningfully to the fight against air pollution. He emphasized that climate change remains a pressing issue both in Ghana and globally, and transitioning to electric vehicles is one practical way to reduce carbon emissions and improve air quality.

“This initiative is about empowering our youth economically while protecting our environment,” he stated. “By introducing electric vehicles, we are reducing fuel dependency, cutting down harmful emissions, and creating dignified job opportunities for thousands of young Ghanaians.”

The Work and Pay model is expected to make it easier for young people to acquire and operate electric vehicles without the heavy financial burden typically associated with vehicle ownership. Beneficiaries will have the opportunity to work and gradually pay off the cost of the vehicles, enabling them to build sustainable livelihoods.

The event was attended by several prominent personalities, including the Minister in charge of Youth Development and Empowerment, George Opare Addo. Hon. Opare Addo commended Alhaji Salamu Amadu for the forward-thinking initiative, describing it as a major contribution to youth empowerment and national development.

He noted that partnerships between the private sector and government are critical in addressing unemployment and encouraged other business leaders to emulate such impactful interventions.

The Electric Car Work and Pay Initiative is expected to roll out in phases, with the first batch of vehicles already available for distribution. Interested individuals and members of the public can visit the Afro-Arab Group of Companies’ office in Nima for further inquiries or call 025 797 5353 for more information.

With this bold step, the Afro-Arab Group of Companies continues to position itself as a key driver of innovation, youth empowerment, and environmental sustainability in Ghana.
