MultiChoice Talent Factory Academy is open to all emerging filmmakers with either some industry experience or a relevant post-school qualification in film to apply for the exciting opportunity to hone their television and film production skills. Application for this year’s MTF programme is open till July 14, 2023.
According to Atinuke Babatunde, MTF West-Africa Director, Since its inception in 2018, the Academy has helped over 120 aspiring filmmakers from 13 different nations on the continent polish their craft. Sixty percent of the MTF Alumni class of 2022’s graduates were already employed in the television industry three months after graduation.
The Academy’s partnerships with the New York Film Academy (NYFA), the Henley Business School, Dolby, and Canon will also benefit students training opportunities. Previous cohorts have also participated in the Partners Against Piracy (PAP) project pitching process and cooperated with the United Nations’ Verified campaign.
“There are so many stories on our continent that need to be told and documented with a sense of skill and passion, and that is what the MTF Academy curriculum has been designed for working with our facilitating partner, the Pan Atlantic University’s School of Media and Communications.
“The students will be given hands-on training in areas such as film directing, sound design, and the business of film, with workplace experience on Africa Magic and SuperSport top productions,” Babatunde said.
Requirements
- Students between the ages of 18-26
- Students with a qualification from a
registered post-secondary education
institution or have some experience in
the film industry - Be fluent in English in terms of speaking,
reading and writing - Citizens of the following countries:
Angola, Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana,
Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia,
Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and
Zimbabwe - Students who demonstrate a passion for
the TV & Film industry

references or any other documents that
MultiChoice may stipulate.
