Cervical Cancer Awareness: Korle Bu Polyclinic Offers Discounted Screening

Research has it that, Cervical cancer, a disease that affects the cervix, is the second leading cause of deaths among women worldwide.

In Ghana, the statistics are alarming, with many women losing their lives to this preventable disease. However, with early detection and treatment, cervical cancer can be cured.

In an effort to promote cervical cancer awareness and prevention, Dr. Susan Keteku, a medical expert, recently appeared on Bullet TV Ghana to discuss the importance of regular screening.

During the conversation, Dr. Keteku announced an exciting initiative aimed at encouraging women to get screened for cervical cancer.

On January 30th, 2025, the Korle Bu Polyclinic will offer discounted cervical cancer screening to the first 100 women who arrive at the facility.

The screening, which normally costs a significant amount, will be available for just Gh 100 cedis.

This initiative is a welcome move, as it seeks to make cervical cancer screening more accessible and affordable for women in Ghana.

By offering discounted screening, the Korle Bu Polyclinic hopes to encourage more women to take advantage of this life-saving service.

Cervical cancer is a preventable disease, and regular screening is key to early detection and treatment.

The human papillomavirus (HPV) is the primary cause of cervical cancer, and vaccination against HPV can prevent the disease.
