Atinka Media Village Gets New Managing Director, Ms. Ekuba Yankey

Atinka Media Village (AMV), a subsidiary of the Tobinco Group, has announced the appointment of renowned communication specialist Ms. Ekuba Yankey as Managing Director, effective Monday, 25th November 2024.

Ms. Yankey will oversee the affairs of Atinka Media Village, which comprises Atinka TV, Atinka 104.7 FM in Accra, Ahoto 102.3 FM in Takoradi, Agyenkwa 101.9 FM in Kumasi, and the soon-to-be-commissioned Bullet TV, an English-speaking channel which is currently running test transmission.

Her proven expertise in media and corporate communications for a period spanning almost two decades underscores Atinka Media Village’s commitment to its vision of becoming the world’s most trusted and influential media network.

The warm and resounding welcome Ms. Ekuba received upon her arrival reflects the enthusiasm and readiness of the entire Atinka Media Village team to collaborate and work towards achieving collective success under her leadership.

PROFILE

Ekuba Yankey is a communications Specialist on both Television (GTV) and Radio (GAR/UNIIQ FM) having worked for the most part with the state broadcaster, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation.

Beginning from Skyy Power FM in Takoradi in 1996, she has been in the media industry for well over 19 years until recently. Throughout these years Ekuba anchored several programs and hosted many events of all sorts on several platforms due to her versatility. These include programs such as;

• The prestigious ‘Millennium Minds’ for the Millennium Excellence Awards Foundation, which awards African Achievers across the world. Established by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and his associates.

• Key anchor during the Presidential State Burial for the late President Atta Mills of Ghana, on television discussions about Him and the Outside Broadcast at the funeral grounds throughout the period of mourning. Being the first of its kind for a sitting President. Considering the enormity and the caliber of mourners that poured into the country and the associated activities that characterized the sudden state funeral.

• On Television, Ms Yankey hosted the GTV flagship program ‘Breakfast Show’ for over 13 years tackling varied topics and personalities ranging from presidents, from across the world, to politicians, businesses, people, professionals, ambassadors as well as people from all walks of life; rich and poor, young and adult of all sorts.

• She was a key presenter for most Outside Broadcast national events and business programs with large crowds and sophisticated guests of all classes. Popular amongst these events include Independence Day parades live commentary transmitted across the nation, Elections live reportage, State Budget reading, and State of the Nation Addresses.
• Hosted Television programs such as GTV-Govern, titled; Our Leaders, a one-on-one interview profiling the life of prominent statesmen and Achievers who have succeeded in their fields of endeavor.

• Moreover, with her flair in writing and special interest in supporting youth and women, Ekuba has over the years been a resource person on several platforms including Counseling Session on GTV and Home Affairs on Joy FM as well as TV Africa.

• This agenda is thereon pursued on the Nurturing Future 2Day platform. Currently, she is the founder of ‘Nurturing Future2day’, (NF2D) an adolescent nurturing platform, a foundation that looks at molding and equipping adolescents between the ages of 13 and 19 with the basic requirements in life before entering adulthood.

In areas such as discipline, nationalism, etiquette and manners, technology use, career choices, and so on. While empowering students at the tertiary level, to keep focus, blazing new trails, and rising beyond audacity; to change the status quo in life.
