Church of Pentecost Dedicates Ultramodern Edifice in Honour of Deaconess Margaret Ama Badu Tobbin

The Church of Pentecost (COP), Dr Thomas Wyatt Assembly, has dedicated a new six-storey church building in honor of Deaconess Margaret Ama Badu Tobbin, mother of renowned Ghanaian preacher and businessman, Elder Dr Samuel Nana Amo Tobbin.

The new building is a multipurpose six-storey facility designed to support the church’s worship, education, administration and other activities. It has a main church auditorium, a children’s ministry centre, a youth ministry centre, conference and meeting rooms, administrative offices and parking facilities.

Church leaders said the facility would help strengthen and expand the work of the Church of Pentecost in the Accra Newtown District and nearby communities.

The ceremony was attended by ministers, religious leaders, including the Ga Mantse, and pastors from across the country.

At the dedication ceremony, the Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr Eric Nyamekye, explained that the Church of Pentecost does not normally name its buildings after individuals. Such an honour is reserved for people who have made outstanding contributions to the church and whose lives have left a lasting impact.

Apostle Nyamekye described Deaconess Margaret as a generous woman who gave much of what she had for the work of God’s kingdom. He also acknowledged the important contribution of her family to the project.

According to him, about three-quarters of the financial contribution towards the building came from her son, Elder Dr Samuel Nana Amo Tobbin, who he described as a great blessing to the Church of Pentecost.

The Ga Mantse, His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, congratulated the church and everyone who contributed to the completion of the building.

He especially praised Elder Dr Samuel Nana Amo Tobbin for his support for the project. He said his contribution should encourage others to use their blessings to help society and the work of God.

The Ga Mantse also expressed his happiness about the location of the new church building, which is close to his residence, and said he hoped to visit the church from time to time.

Speaking at the ceremony, Elder Charles Amo Tobbin – one of those who helped build the earlier, smaller church building at the location – expressed his gratitude to God for the progress made by his family and the church.

He said the new structure showed how God had blessed the church and his family.

Elder Dr Samuel Nana Amo Tobbin also thanked God for the completion of the project. He described the project as evidence of God’s goodness and faithfulness.

The church expressed its appreciation to God, the Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, past and present leaders, church members and all individuals who contributed financially and otherwise to the project.

“God is a showman” – Chairman Tobinco proclaimed.
