The Oti Region has taken a significant step towards empowering its youth with employable skills, as the National Apprenticeship Programme (NAP) officially commenced across all nine districts.
The programme, initiated by the NDC Government under the leadership of H.E. John Dramani Mahama, aims to provide young people with the skills needed to secure sustainable jobs and promote self-reliance.
According to Michael Nyurekyo Mampah, Oti Regional Coordinator of NAP, the programme is a game-changer for the region’s youth. “This initiative marks a significant milestone in our efforts to reduce unemployment and bridge the widening skills gap in Ghana,” he said.
The first batch of beneficiaries comprises 55 master craft persons and 275 apprentices, who have embarked on a journey to acquire skills in various trades.

The programme is designed to equip young people with the skills and knowledge required to excel in their chosen professions.
“We are grateful to H.E. John Dramani Mahama and the NDC Government for this life-changing intervention,” Michael Nyurekyo Mampah expressed. “The NAP will undoubtedly transform the future of our young people and contribute to the growth and development of our region.”

The NAP is a testament to the government’s commitment to empowering the youth and promoting economic growth. As the programme progresses, it is expected to have a significant impact on the lives of young people in the Oti Region and beyond.
With the NAP, the future of Ghana’s youth looks brighter than ever. As Michael Nyurekyo Mampah aptly put it, “The NAP is a stepping stone to a brighter future, and we are excited to be part of it.”
