Former President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that has spread to his bones, his office announced in a statement on Sunday.
The diagnosis comes after Biden sought medical attention for increasing urinary symptoms, which led to the discovery of a prostate nodule.
Following further examination, he received a diagnosis last Friday characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5), indicating a more aggressive form of the disease.
According to the statement, while this cancer is serious due to its aggressive nature, it appears to be hormone-sensitive, which may allow for effective management and treatment options moving forward.
Biden’s medical team is expected to develop a comprehensive treatment plan aimed at addressing the cancer and managing his health condition.
The former president has often spoken about the importance of regular health check-ups and early detection in addressing health issues.
