Act of Kindness: The Proprietress of Beacon Hall School, Solace Akofah Dzixose-Davor, has donated items worth thousands of Ghana cedis to Cabfix Ladies Football Club over the weekend.
The items donated were provisions, toiletries, bags of water, mattresses, sanitary pads among others.
According to Mrs Solace, she was touched by the zeal and determination these girls showed despite the struggles they face combining school with education.
The story of Cabfix Ladies came to light when enterprising sports journalist, Fortune Adza of AIT TV defied all odds to produce a documentary on Cabfix Ladies.
Dubbed “A Day in Camp”, the piece shed light on the challenges faced by the girls living and training in the camp.
Miss Dzixose-Davor, who reached out to the club after she chanced on the video, made the donation following Cabfix Ladies 2-0 defeat to Faith Ladies on Match Day 1 of the Greater Accra Women’s Division One League last Saturday.
In addition to the donation, she pledged to personally sponsor the education of at least two school-going players until they complete their studies.
During the brief ceremony, Miss Dzixose-Davor encouraged the players to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to both their education and football dreams.
A representative of the team expressed heartfelt gratitude and thanked Miss Dzixose-Davor for her generosity.
She added that the team will continue to work hard to make her proud.
The donation marks a growing wave of community support for women’s football in Ghana, especially for teams nurturing young talents from deprived backgrounds.
