CEO of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Malik Basintale, has teamed up with music icon Shatta Wale and his SHAXI team to launch a youth-focused transport employment initiative aimed at creating thousands of jobs across the country.
The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) is set to transform the landscape of youth job creation in Ghana through a dynamic new partnership with celebrated musician Shatta Wale and his SHAXI ride-hailing service.
At the heart of this partnership is a bold plan to support the first 2,000 vehicles registered on the SHAXI platform with monthly fuel coupons worth GHC500 for a period of six months.
This strategic support aims to reduce the burden of operational costs for young drivers and make participation in the SHAXI initiative more accessible and profitable.
In addition, vehicles that operate on a 24-hour basis will qualify for special incentives, enabling two drivers to work in shifts.
This not only boosts income for drivers but effectively doubles employment opportunities per vehicle, a major win for youth empowerment.
CEO Malik Basintale described the initiative as a “game-changer,” emphasizing its potential to unlock massive job creation through public-private innovation.
“Partnering with a cultural icon like Shatta Wale helps us connect with the youth in meaningful ways while delivering real, impactful solutions,” he said.
This partnership stands as a beacon of what’s possible when government agencies and private innovators come together using creativity, technology, and influence to shape a brighter future for Ghana’s young people.
