Unfortunate! Afua Asantewaa Aduonum’s Effort Couldn’t Meet Guinness World Records Criteria.

Guinness World Records has rejected the longest singing marathon attempt by Ghanaian Media personality Afua Asantewaa Aduonum.

Afua Asantewaa Aduonum ended her sing-a-thon record attempt for the Guinness World Records after singing for 5 days and some hours.

Singing over 1000 songs, the resilient Broadcast Journalist and entrepreneur wrapped up the challenge with 126 hours surpassing the 105 hour -mark set by current Guinness World Record holder, Sunil Waghmare from India.

Afua Asantewaa Aduomum started her Guinness World Record attempt for the longest singing marathon by an individual on 24th December, 2023 and ended on 29th, December 2023, midnight.

Dignitaries, celebrities and members of the general public were at the Akwaaba Village to support and cheer Afua.

After weeks of waiting for the results of her attempt, Guinness World Records revealed in a post on X that Afua’s attempt was unsuccessful.

“Unfortunately Afua’s Guinness World Records attempt for the longest singing marathon was not successful, but we hope that she will make another attempt soon. We’ve seen how inspirational it has been for her fans. The evidence check had already begun before Afua requested priority service, so we refunded her payment earlier this month. We wish Afua the best of luck with any future record attempts,” the post on X said.
